We are Mike & Ray and we are so appreciative of being considered for the amazing responsibility of becoming adoptive parents. We are a loving, silly, and hard-working couple and we’re excited to offer your child the best life possible through open adoption! We cannot wait to share our existing traditions, from boisterous holiday gatherings to slow Sunday mornings working in the garden, and to find out what new traditions will begin with a new member of the family. Thank you for taking the time to get to know us!

We have both always dreamed of being fathers and discussed our family plans very early on in our relationship. Ray’s mom and her siblings grew up in the foster care system and her experiences have always motivated him to choose adoption someday. We are lucky to be surrounded by a beautiful, growing family. Mike’s brother and cousins on both sides have young children whom we frequently spend time with. We also share an adopted nephew/godson who has the best laugh in the world! We love to visit and FaceTime with our nephews and godson often and put a smile on their little faces.  We knew adoption was the right choice for us for many reasons, and now we’re even more excited to expand our family through adoption.

FAQ’s about placing a baby for Adoption

I'm considering giving my baby up for adoption. How much does that cost?

It won't cost you anything. If you choose to place your baby for adoption, all of your medical and legal fees will be covered and you may be eligible for financial assistance with other pregnancy-related expenses.

I'm experiencing an unplanned pregnancy and don't know who the birth father is. Can I still place my baby for adoption?

Yes. Even if you don’t know the identity of the birth father, you can still choose to make an adoption plan. However, every adoption situation is different. The adoption social worker you’re assigned to will get to know you and your story first, and then guide you through the process accordingly.

When is the right time to talk with an adoption professional?

You can make an adoption plan at any point in your pregnancy, even after the baby has been born. But, it's important to start the process as early in your pregnancy as possible. Connecting with those resources will allow you to gain access to important medical services, including prenatal care, to help ensure a healthy pregnancy.

When I create an adoption plan, will I get to choose who is in the room with me during delivery?

One aspect of your adoption plan is the "Hospital Plan" an outline of how you'd like your hospital stay and delivery to go. You can craft this on your own or with the help of your adoption social worker. But everything is up to you. You’ll be able to choose who comes to the hospital with you, who is in the room with you during delivery, and how much time you’d like to spend with the baby before signing the final papers.

How much contact will I have with the adoptive family after I place my baby with them?

As part of your adoption plan, you'll determine whether or not you’d like to have an open or closed adoption or something in between. Open adoptions may include phone calls, messaging (via social media, email, or text), and/or periodic visits each year. Closed adoptions may include no contact at all or annual updates provided to the birth parent(s) by the adoptive family. Each post-adoption relationship is different and can vary based on what an expectant mother chooses in her adoption plan.

Making Winter Memories in Upstate New York ❄️🏔️

03/03/2025

Every year, we take at least one trip upstate to soak in the best of winter—fresh snow, crisp air, and time with family. This past weekend, we stayed in the historic town of Saugerties, where we explored Main Street and enjoyed its small-town charm. 🏡✨

One of the highlights of the weekend was hitting the slopes. ⛷️ Mike is as steady as ever on skis, and Ray keeps improving each season - this being his fourth! We especially loved spending time with Mike’s brother, his wife and our two-year-old nephew, watching him take in the excitement of winter. ☃️💙

As we made memories together, we couldn’t help but picture what it would be like to share these traditions with a child someday—introducing them to the joy of a first snowfall, bundling up for a day outside, or teaching them to ski when they’re ready.

We know that no matter what, our family will be built on love, shared experiences, and plenty of moments like these. ❤️

A Mid-Winter Getaway: Celebrating Love & Family in Puerto Rico

03/03/2025

We feel so grateful for the chance to escape the winter chill and spend some time in sunny Puerto Rico! This trip was extra special as we celebrated our fourth anniversary and got to visit Ray’s dad, who moved back to Puerto Rico after retiring in 2022. Over the past few years, visiting him and exploring a new part of the island has become one of our favorite traditions!

This time, we stayed in Isabela, a charming beachside town filled with local shops, breathtaking ocean views, and some of the most delicious food we’ve ever had. Mike spent an afternoon surfing, while Ray cheered him on from the shore—cautiously but enthusiastically! We also hiked along Survivor’s Beach, taking in the rugged coastline and peaceful surroundings. Our anniversary dinner was the perfect way to end the day, watching the sunset over the water and reflecting on another year of love, adventure, and dreams for the future.

Each time we visit Puerto Rico, we’re reminded of the importance of family, traditions, and making memories together—things we can’t wait to share with a future child someday. ❤️
